The cocktail menu is full of fresh and creative drinks, and ‘The Lotus’ is one of our favorites with a tasty blend of Tito’s and Elderflower Liquor mixed with mint and POG (pineapple, orange, guava) juice. We also found many timeless favorites on the menu like the Old Fashioned and the Salty Dog. We were especially happy to see the classic French 75, a deliciously refreshing gin and champagne drink from the 1930s. More importantly, the French 75’s aptitude is of perfection and tastes amazing!

All in all, The Dirty Monkey aims to please and is the perfect place on Maui to enjoy happy hour, a meal, a delicious cocktail, two, or three! This venue should definitely be on the top of your list if you’re visiting Maui’s West Side.

Not only is ‘The Lotus’ a tasty and refreshing drink, but it also happens to be one of the prettiest cocktails we’ve ever seen! It’s a shaken cocktail served over a single ice cube and garnished with an edible flower. The recipe includes Tito’s Vodka, Elderflower liqueur, fresh mint, POG juice (pineapple, orange, and guava), and a sparkling wine float. Super, super classy.

We also love how they use local Maui vendors throughout their recipes!
Monkeypod has a really impressive craft beer menu which includes local Maui and Hawaii craft beers. Beer selections include Lagers, Wheat Beers, English Bitters, Golden/Blonde Ales, IPA’s, Pale Ales, Amber & Brown Ales, Porters & Stouts, Belgian Style Ales, and Ciders. They also have the most insane wine list, full of varieties from Europe, South America, Australia, California, Oregon, and Lebanon. Here, you can enjoy delicious cocktails and food, wonderful Pacific Ocean views (from both locations), and daily live music.

If you’re craving a Mai Tai, look no further than Monkeypod Kitchen. It’s been voted as the ‘Best Mai Tai on Maui’ by numerous media outlets, and it surely deserves the title. What makes this Mai Tai so special is the delicious lilikoi (passionfruit) and honey foam that floats on top. It’s soft, it’s frothy, it melts in your mouth, and it’s the gateway to drinking one of the best cocktails on Maui. The recipe includes Old Lahaina light and dark rum, lime juice, house made macadamia nut orgeat, orange curacao, and their famous house-made honey-lilikoi foam.

This spot is always bustling with positive vibes, yummy Southwestern-style Hawaii-fusion dishes, and an uber-impressive tequila bar. Frequented by locals and visitors, this Maui bar is always fun, and so are their drink concoctions.

Although tequila drinks are on the top of our list for this North Shore Maui watering hole, we think the Hibis*Kiss (no tequila, sorry) is a drink that supersedes the rest. As far as cocktail history goes, a “Hibiscus Cooler” is in fact a drink known from Jamaica. At Milagros, the Hibis*Kiss is a classically inspired tropical drink made from Hibiscus flower, lemon, agave, and Maui Ocean Vodka. It’s amazing, and definitely a commendable bar menu option that you will not see on any other menu in Hawaii (or, Planet Earth).

When in Wailea, there is a certain sense of luxury in the air. It’s classic Wailea… you’re surrounded by world renowned golf courses and resorts. There is no other place in Hawaii, or the world that can be compared to the vibe. So, if you find yourself in Wailea…definitely head to the Shops at Wailea and find Pint & Cork. Here, you’ll find a vibe that isn’t pretentious or trying too hard. It is what it is. It’s a restaurant and a bar. It’s a venue that provides amazing service, and an awesome menu in a cool setting. Although Pint & Cork’s drink menu is packed with amazing mixology-like options, and a huge selection of beers, we suggest that you choose a realistically pleasing option like the Pint & Cork Martini. This martini is not basic. It’s made with Grey Goose vodka, shaken with an essence of grapefruit and lime, and served with a floating basil leaf. It’s not overwhelming. It’s not trying to hard…it’s just perfectly satisfying.

Located adjacent to Mala Wharf in Lahaina, here is where you’ll find a comfortable environment; something that feels like a home away from home. Upon entering Frida’s thresholds, all are welcomed by authentic Mexican style with vibrantly colored tile art, Mexicana paintings, and an overall interior design element that invigorates a feeling of Mexican culture on Maui. At Frida’s, you’ll instantly notice a beautiful bar, and an ocean view decorated by glimpses of the Green Hawaiian Sea Turtles. Ole! If you venture to Lahaina and find yourself at Frida’s, most definitely order a margarita! No matter what type of tequila concoction your order- you’ll be more than pleased. Not only do we love the Frida’s Margarita because it’s their namesake cocktail, but we also love the sexy combination of ingredients: Maestro Dobel Diamante Private Barrel, lime, agave, and Verdita Sangrita Verde (pineapple, cucumber, cilantro, mint, and jalapeño).

A visit to Mama’s can only be categorized as an ‘experience.’ Besides having a fantastic cocktail and wine menu, they also have one of the most insanely impressive menus you’ll ever see. Rotating daily and seasonally, menu items feature locally grown ingredients, flavors that will burst your palette with happiness.

This very special and fresh libation is a special blend of Bombay Gin, locally grown Kula lime, and tropical juices. It also happens to be shaken table-side for your enjoyment. After building their reputation for tasty and fresh menu items, the ‘Three’ chefs decided to open their flagship restaurant located in Kihei’s Kalama Village. Now, Three’s is a South Maui institution. They provide an expansive menu of favorite items that serve up breakfast, lunch and dinner items to their guests. Tasty choices include Coconut Crusted Shrimp, Panko Crusted Ahi Rolls, salads, sandwiches, oyster plates, and mouthwatering entrees like their Hawaiian-style Ribs and Asian Inspired Beer Can Chicken.

With succulent food items like this, all you can hope for is an equally exciting cocktail menu. At Three’s, libations are Queen to their King menu. Favorite cocktails include drinks like their Lilikoi Martini, Mango-Chili Mojito, Cucumber and Ginger Collins, and our favorite…D’Lime in D’Coconut.

Ok. Let’s be honest. D’Lime in D’Coconut just sounds cool! What a creative name for a classic cocktail twist on the 1972 song by Harry Nilsson, “Put the Lime in the Coconut.” This favorite Maui cocktail is refreshing, sweet (but, not too sweet), and packs a punch! It’s made from Three Olives Coconut Water vodka, fresh coconut, lime, mint, shaken hard to perfection, and served on the rocks. It’s fantastic!

On any day of the week, guests can venture to Fleetwood’s for a lively happy hour on their rooftop or at their bistro-style bar for dinner and a show. The rooftop offers the perfect spot to enjoy Pacific Ocean views and a magical Maui sunset with a cocktail in hand, and the downstairs dining area is where you can celebrate with a glass of wine while singing along to a Fleetwood Mac tune being performed live. Dinner menus rotate by the season, but you can always count on some classic cocktails like a Pimms Cup, Mai Tai’s, and straight-up Martinis. You’ll never know who you’ll see at this venue; rock stars, local celebrities, or even Mick Fleetwood himself!

The 1944 Mai Tyler isn’t just one of the top Mai Tai’s in Hawaii, it’s also named after Steven Tyler of Aerosmith- one of Mick Fleetwood’s dearest friends. So, so, Super Cool! The 1944 Mai Tyler is as tempting as you can imagine. It’s made with Smith & Cross Jamaican Rum, John Taylor’s Velvet Falernum from Barbados, Captain Morgan Black Spiced Rum, Orange Curacao, lime juice, fresh muddled pineapple, and a decadently arousing house-made lilikoi (passionfruit) foam float. Ooh la la.

At Lahaina Grill, their sommelier has meticulously created a superb menu of wines from around the world. His integrity is so full-force that he travels to meet winemakers and grape growers many times a year, venturing to famous wine locales in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, Washington State, Oregon, and California. One of the things that really stands out about his wine picks is that a multitude of varieties on Lahaina Grill’s menu is limited in production. This is a super rare and distinct quality to have for a sommelier in Hawaii; it allows Lahaina Grill’s wine lists to rotate, offering guests one-of-a-kind wine tasting experiences during every visit. In fact, they have over 450 wines available by the bottle, and over 40 wines available by the glass. WOW! Impressive.

In addition to exceptional wine varieties, the cocktail menu at Lahaina Grill is equally impressive. Here is where you’ll find fine dining mixology skills at their very best in West Maui. Find classic libations like the Rum Old Fashioned, Black Manhattan, G&T, Bee Sting, and our favorite, the Maui Mule.

Obviously inspired by the traditional ‘Moscow Mule’ recipe, the Maui Mule at Lahaina Grill contains like-minded ingredients to the “T,” but with a Maui twist. This cocktail is concocted with local Maui Ocean Vodka, fresh Kula lime, Maui Brewing Company’s Ginger Beer, and crystalized ginger. Served in a copper cup engraved with the Lahaina Grill logo, this Maui libation is certainly class all the way.

Tiki’s menu provides traditional 1940s-1960s ‘Tiki-style’ cocktails; local beers, and a host of family-friendly and casual quick-bite options like burgers, fries, wraps, skewers, and hot dogs. With a perfect location, great vibes, and powerful drinks, all will surely enjoy their time spent at this cozy, old school grass shack under West Maui’s warm sun. Tiki’s most popular cocktails include items like a Lava Flow, Chi Chi, Blue Hawaii, Tiki Tini, Pina Colada (topped with Macadamia Nut liqueur), the Tropical Itch, and of course, their Classic Mai Tai.

Tiki Bar’s Classic Mai Tai is probably the same drink you would receive the day they opened this ocean side hot spot. The ingredients are simple; light rum, pineapple and guava juice, lime, simple syrup, and a dark rum float. Here’s where you’ll find a straight up Maui Mai Tai. Although you may not find the Tiki-style mixology skills that are present in big city tiki bars across the U.S., you will definitely find a lot of aloha here. Big time. The service is quick and always friendly.
